itchy feet.

Since returning home from my Semester at Sea, I have had itchy feet. It is an itch that can only be cured by hitting the pavement once more and moving around.

I have come down with a case of what I call the 'unrequited love blues' and for me this particular ailment has one cure that will never fail; travel. Traveling is a great way to remind myself that being without a significant other is preferable (at least for the time being). Ideally I would purchase a plane ticket for tomorrow and go wherever the wind blows me. Unfortunately, I suffer from another ailment- being a college student. Currently I am making it through the bog of end of the year insanity (a condition only complicated by the fact that next year marks my last year as an undergraduate). The college student illness is one of a peculiar kind; the symptoms range from outbursts of frustration, to glimmers of joy. Other common signs that you might be suffering from being a college student include a total lack of free time, random fits of crying and the feeling that you might be crushed under the weight of the student loans you are currently racking up.

As you see, my condition prevents me from the joy of immediate travel. So, I have settled on the next best thing; planning to travel. In the stolen moments I can obtain through procrastination, I have begun to plan the summer trip I have been planning since I graduated from high school nearly five years ago. I am planning my backpacking through Europe trip.

Backpacking through Europe has been a long time dream of mine. After my Semester at Sea it became apparent that this dream had no other option but to become a reality. And so I have begun assembling my rag tag band of wanderers and vagabands and have begun laying the ground work.

Here on this blog I will be stealing moments, like a flighty mistress, with my undying love of travel.
I hope you enjoy the ride.
